I. CLUB OPERATIONS
There is a General Manager in complete charge of all operations.
II. MEMBERSHIP
The following are types of available memberships:
- Full Golf membership (age 40 and over) includes unlimited greens fees and is entitled to all privileges, use of golf course and clubhouse.
- Intermediate membership (through age 39) is entitled to all privileges, use of golf course, and clubhouse. This membership may continue until said member reaches the age of 40, at which time he/she will pay the prevailing annual dues rate for a full golf membership.
- Limited / Non-Resident membership will pay prevailing greens fees and golf car rentals and is entitled to play twice each week from April 1 to mid-October, Monday through Friday. Golf, under this classification, is extended to "unlimited play" from mid-October through March 30 and includes weekends. A Limited / Non-Resident member is not permitted to play, at any time, as a guest of another club member.
- Social membership entitles the member and his/her spouse to unlimited use of the clubhouse and dining room facilities, and once a month golfing privileges for the member or his/her guests. Payment of prevailing greens fees and golf car rental is required. A guest locker is provided to a social member or his/her guests at no charge. A Social member is not permitted to play, at any time, as a guest of another club member.
SUPPLEMENTAL MEMBERSHIPS
- Spouse Member - a member’s spouse is entitled to all clubhouse and golf course privileges as they apply to the individual membership categories.
- Junior Member - all single children of a member aged 24 or under and still members of his/her household are entitled to all clubhouse and golf course privileges as they apply to the individual membership category of his/her parent. Upon reaching his/her 25th birthday a junior member may apply for an Intermediate membership, paying 50% of the prevailing initiation fee.
Ill. PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS
Any member may recommend a prospective applicant. When a membership application has been completed it must be signed and returned to the Club office accompanied by the prevailing initiation fee.
Upon approval for Club membership, the applicant will be scheduled for an interview and review of Club policies.
A member, upon payment of the initiation fee and dues, thereby accepts the Rules of the Club and agrees to be bound thereby and upon this condition alone is entitled to enjoy the advantages and privileges of the Club.
IV. DUES
All memberships are on an annual basis. Dues may be paid in one of two ways, annually or monthly. Golf members who elect to pay their dues annually must pay in full by the 15th of January. If a “Full Golf” member elects to pay his/her dues annually, a five percent discount is allowed.
If dues are paid monthly, the prevailing dues will be pro-rated into twelve (12) monthly payments. Monthly dues are billed in advance.
V. HOUSE ACCOUNTS
House accounts of members are due and payable by the 15th of the following month. A 1-1/2% per month finance charge will be applied to all accounts unpaid by the 20th of the following month.
Any member not in good standing by April 15 of the current year will be restricted in the use of our club facilities and reciprocal privileges with other area golf and country clubs.
On April 15, and each month thereafter, the Pro Shop will be given a list of restricted members who are not permitted the use of Club facilities.
All charges for food, liquor, course, and golf shop are put on "chits" (Club Hospitality Information and Transaction System).
- Members must sign, upon presentation, their name and house account number on all food, liquor, course, and golf shop chits.
- Monthly chits are available to members upon request. Please advise the office personnel if you require your chits at the end of each month. They may be picked up in the Club office after the 7th day of the following month.
Special Charges: “Western Pennsylvania Golf Association Dues” - Lone Pine Country Club meets the qualifications of membership in the WPGA; therefore, the prevailing fee for WPGA dues are billed to each golfing member once each year in the month of February.
The WPGA coordinates and/or regulates all elements of the USGA Handicap System within its jurisdiction and promotes reciprocal privileges for our members throughout the WPGA network of clubs (more than 90 clubs are presently members in the WPGA).
VI. SANCTIONS FOR FAILURE TO PAY
In the event annual dues, house accounts, or other charges or amounts due to the Club by a Member or his guest are not paid when due, interest will accrue on the unpaid balance at the rate of 18% per annum. In addition, a $25.00 service charge will be charged on any check payable to the Club which fails to negotiate for any reason.
If a member is in default of any payment due the Club, the Club in its discretion shall have the right to pursue any lawful remedy, including without limitation suspension or termination of one’s membership. In the event it becomes necessary to collect any amount owed, the Club shall also be entitled to collect all reasonable attorney fees and costs incurred in the collection effort.
Members who become delinquent with their accounts are subject to suspension and/or expulsion from the Club.
VII. HOURS OF OPERATION
Conditions permitting, the golf course will be opened at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday through Friday. On Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays the course will be opened at 7:00 a.m., unless prior notification is given by the Golf Professional and with prior approval by the General Manager.
On Mondays, the golf course will open at 9:00 a.m., weather permitting.
The golf course will close when the last group completes play for the day. Members are not permitted to play after dark.
Junior members are not permitted to play before 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, or Holidays, unless they are accompanied by a senior member.
The driving range is open when the course is open with the following exception: Range will close one hour before dark on Thursday and Sunday evenings, to allow pick up of range balls in preparation for the range to be mowed on Friday and Monday mornings.
Grill Room hours fluctuate with the season, so please check your calendar or call the office to check on the current food service hours of operation. The Club hours shall be the responsibility of the General Manager and any departures there from shall be made only with the General Manager’s consent.
VIII. DRESS CODE
Members shall be dressed in proper attire at all times. This applies when in the Clubhouse and on the course. It is the Member’s responsibility to inform family and guests of Club’s "dress code" to avoid embarrassment.

- 1. Slacks - Golfing Slacks / Regular Slacks
- 2. Shorts - Bermuda (knee length walking shorts)
- 3. Shirts - Must have collars and sleeves
Acceptable for Women
- 1. Slacks - Golfing Slacks / Regular Slacks / Nylon Warm-up Suits
- 2. Skirts - Jamaican length
- 3. Shorts - Bermuda (knee length walking shorts)
- 4. Tops - Collared shirts / high rounded neck tops / sleeveless tops with collars
Unacceptable for All Members and Guests
Blue jeans / sweat pants / short shorts / gym shorts / jogging shorts / sweat shorts / tennis shorts / halter tops / tank tops / T-shirts (white, colored, or printed) / bare feet / stocking feet / shower thongs
IX. GRILL ROOM / DINING ROOM
A 15% service charge will be added to all food and beverage chits. The required Pennsylvania Sales Tax will be added to all food and non-alcoholic beverages. Note: All private member parties and/or banquets are subject to a 16% service charge.
When food service is available, April through November, no food or beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) shall be brought onto golf Club property unless it was purchased at the Club.
Alcoholic beverages will not be served to anyone unless 21 years of age, nor to anyone who is visibly intoxicated.
Cleated shoes are permitted only in the Grill Room, Golf Shop, and Locker Rooms. They are not permitted in back dining areas (Ballroom and Pine Rooms).
X. GOLF COURSE RULES
- Golf play is at the discretion of and under the supervision of the Golf Professional and his staff.
- Every member MUST register at the Golf Shop before going onto the golf course. The Golf Shop staff will tell you on which hole to start your play.
- Play should be in "foursomes" whenever possible.
- No more than four persons will be permitted to play in a group unless the Golf Professional has given his prior permission.
- On Saturday and Sunday there must be at least one Club member in every group until 10:00 a.m.
- The Club reserves the right to restrict play.
- The practice putting greens are for putting and chipping only. Balls may not be pitched to it with a lofted club. In addition, Hole #18 green is not to be used for practice.
- The lower level of the practice tee shall be devoted to wood shots only.
- No junior members are permitted on upper level of the practice tee at any time, except at the discretion of the Golf Professional or his assistants.
- No food or beverage shall be brought onto Club premises (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). Only food purchased at the Club shall be taken out onto the course.
- The closing of the course shall be at the discretion of management.
- For safety reasons, golfers are not permitted to play in the dark.
Xl. GOLF CAR RULES & REGULATIONS
Golf cars are mandatory with the exception of days when weather conditions prohibit the use of golf cars or when the Golf Shop is closed. The use of golf cars shall be at the discretion of management.
- Golf cars are not permitted on the sloping sides or edges of the greens, nor slopes of the tees.
- Golf cars are not permitted within thirty feet of any green.
- Where blacktop cart paths exist, players must stay on paths with golf cars.
- No one under 16 years of age, or without a valid driver’s license, shall be permitted to drive a golf car on any portion of golf club property.
- Where areas are roped off to heal turf, signs for directing golf cars must be obeyed.
- Golf car rental is mandatory when golf cars are available for use. (Junior members through the age of 18 or without a valid driver’s license excluded.)
- Golf car charging policy:
a. Once two (2) holes have been completed, a nine hole cart rental fee will be charged. b. Once you have teed off the 10th hole an eighteen hole cart rental fee will be charged.
XII. GUEST REGULATIONS
- All members must adhere strictly to the guest rules and assume responsibility for their guest(s).
- The same "guest" may play no more than twice within a calendar month.
- Guest Party: No member may bring more than two foursomes without receiving advance permission from the Golf Professional. Thirteen (13) golfers, or more, constitute a golf outing and prevailing golf outing fees apply. Call the Club Assistant Manager for rates and available dates.
- On Saturday and Sunday there must be at least one member in every group until 10:00 a.m.
- Sponsoring of Guests:
a) a member may sponsor a guest by personally signing him up. b) each playing guest MUST be registered, by name, at the Golf Shop. c) sponsoring members may inform their guests that a locker room is available for their use. d) if a member is unable to play with a guest, he/she must call the Golf Pro and obtain advance permission for the guest. Unaccompanied guests may play only after the Golf Professional has been notified and after they have signed in at the Golf Shop. e) a guest must be sponsored by a Club member or by the Golf Professional.
- Members are ultimately responsible for, and shall be billed for all unpaid charges incurred by their guests. The member is responsible for the conduct of his/her guest and for any damages caused by the guest to the course or clubhouse.
- Occasionally, members of USGA clubs outside the area may desire to play the Club’s course. When such an outside club member appears and is not acquainted with any member to sponsor him, the Golf Pro may sponsor him, subject to the usual greens fee and if there is no interference with the normal play of regular Club members on the course.
XIII. GENERAL GOLF CLUB RULES
- Members with criticisms, problems, or complaints should report their concerns to the General Manager. Members are not to reprimand employees nor give orders to employees.
- Errors that might occur on your monthly statements must be brought to the Club’s attention within 60 days of the statement date. After 60 days a member is committed to pay the amount charged.
- Members are responsible for any debts or damages caused to the clubhouse, golf course or golf cars caused by themselves, members of their families, or guests. A member who holds a banquet is responsible for the behavior of his/her guests
- No dogs or other animals are permitted on the Club property or in the clubhouse.
- The Club shall not be responsible for member’s or guest’s personal property or automobile.
- For safety reasons, speed limit around the clubhouse is 5 miles per hour.
- Club employees have been instructed to address members by their last name, not their first name.
XIV. RESIGNATIONS
Anyone wishing to resign from the club must submit a letter to the general manager by December 15. Members are responsible for payment of their full annual dues regardless of when they submit their resignation. (The Club’s annual dues billing period runs from January 1 through December 31.)
XV. FORCED RESIGNATIONS and SUSPENSIONS
The Club may request the resignation of any member or suspend any member for a certain period of time from membership in the Club for any reason. Upon written notice to the affected member of any such action under this rule, except in cases of suspension for a certain period of time, the Club shall refund a pro rata portion of the annual dues paid by the member for the year in which any such action by the Club occurs. The pro rata portion of the annual dues to be refunded to the member will be offset by any balance due the Club on such member’s house account.
For the purpose of this rule, dues shall be prorated on a monthly basis and the affected member shall be entitled to a refund on the basis of a full month only. There shall not be any other refund.
When a member is requested to resign from membership in the Club he or she will not be eligible to be a member in the future or to be a guest of a member. He or she also may not participate in any golf outing that may be held at Lone Pine Country Club.
XVI. REINSTATEMENTS
A member who voluntarily resigned may be reinstated after a new application has been approved and payment made of the prevailing Initiation fee.
If you submit an application within one year of resigning you must pay all back monthly dues for that year.
XVII. LIABILITY
Any member, guest or other person who is present at the Club or uses the facilities of the Club does so at his or her own risk, and hereby releases the Club and its directors, officers, and employees from any and all injury, damage, cost, or expense, and further shall hold the Club harmless and indemnify the Club, its directors, officers, and employees from any and all claims injury, damage, cost, or expense resulting there from.
The Club is not responsible for any lost, stolen, damaged or misdirected items of any member or guest.
These rules may be amended, modified or suspended at any time.
